3 Things You Can Use Instead Of Weights

Whether you’re vacationing this summer or trying to incorporate more at-home workouts into your routine, you may find it difficult to always have weights around when you’re not at your favorite Orlando Crossfit gym. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your desire to do weighted workouts! As the top CrossFit gym in Orlando, we’re all about finding unique and fun ways to get in a good workout, so that’s why we’ve curated a list of some commonly accessible items that can be used to replace traditional weights during your next DIY workout. Just read on to learn more!

Instead Of Dumbbells Try…

Depending on how heavy you’re trying to go, good dumbbells replacements can include water bottles, canned foods, or books. Whether it’s one at a time or one in each hand, it may be a little awkward to get the hang of it at first, but that just adds to the challenge!

Instead Of A Kettlebell Try…

Some workouts require weights that you can grab ahold of easier than most. That’s why instead of kettlebells, you can try out a milk jug or paint cans. Just make sure the lids are on tight!

Other Weight Alternatives To Try...

When your workout calls for the big ones, there may be some other creative weight alternatives you can try out! The key is to look for household items that pack a punch. Challenge yourself with a sack of potatoes, a case of sodas, a bag of pet food or even a stuffed suitcase.

We get it – you can’t always make it to your favorite Orlando Crossfit class for a good workout. That’s why we still want to equip you with the tools and resources you need to be successful from anywhere – even if that means suggesting quirky weight alternatives to try. But whenever you’re ready to head back to your Orlando Crossfit family, we’ll be here for you. See you soon!
