You’re doing better than you think you are
Everyone started out somewhere—a fact worth remembering on those days when you feel like you’re not quite as strong or fast as you want to be. Everyone goes through that once in a while, but the fact that you’re outside or at the gym moving is something to celebrate, regardless of the specific numbers you may see that day.
Not feeling motivated? That’s ok!
There’s nothing like a rush of motivation to test your limits or try for a new personal best at the gym—but motivation isn’t (and shouldn’t) be the only force fueling your fitness gains. Though your social media feed may say otherwise, we all go through lulls of feeling less-than-motivated. On those days, the best thing to do is get out there and do something great for your body anyway! Chances are, by the time you finish your workout, you’ll be thanking yourself for the effort.
Fitness can (and should!) be fun
From CrossFit to running to yoga and more, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to fitness—so don’t feel the need to be too strict or serious with your workout routine. Mix things up with a new outfit or mid-workout dance session. Get your four-legged friend involved in your routine or put together the perfect workout playlist! The best fitness routine is the one you feel good about following, and we’re firm believers that fun always has a place in the gym, at the track and beyond.
You are not on this fitness journey alone
Even if you don’t have a designated workout buddy, you are not going on this fitness journey solo! Hop online to learn about the experience of your fellow fitness fanatics, or, even simpler, spend some time around the welcoming community at your local CrossFit WaterSide. Whatever your experience level or unique circumstances may be, you can be sure that there’s someone who has been in those shoes (or trainers) before.
You don’t have to work out, you get to work out
Sometimes, all you need is a shift in perspective! If working out ever starts to feel like a chore (tip: regularly mixing up your routine with CrossFit WODs and other built-in variation can help prevent this), remind yourself that fitness is a celebration of your mind and body, and what they can do together when put to the test! Every run, WOD or fitness class is a chance to learn something new or surprise yourself—and there’s not much more exciting than that.
