The Importance of Balance in Your Olympic Lifts

Coach Mike Burgener says that 90% of your lifts are missed through your feet. Balance is a vital key to any Olympic lift that you do. Balance allows you to control the barbell and manipulate it in the direction you want it to go. You achieve balance by keeping pressure on 3 parts of your foot. The base of your big toe, the base of your pinky toe and your heel. Having your weight evenly spread through those 3 points of contact will give you balance and more control to make more lifts.
